moeallimin is history

Muallimin is the short name of the Madrasah Muallimin Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. The school is also often called a short m3in (read: Emgain) by the alumni. He is located in the heart of Yogyakarta city, and includes as one of the schools who have a long history, particularly relating to the establishment and development of the organization Muhammadiyah in Indonesia.

Muallimin Muhammadiyah school is not unusual. It has a predicate as a Cadre School Muhammadiyah, where many of the alumni organization devoted himself in this struggle, both from level to level the Central Executive Branch.

History of establishment Muallimin

Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta Mu'allimin madrasa founded by KH Ahmad Dahlan in 1918 under the name "Qismul Arqa" in Kampung Kauman Yogyakarta (Alfian, 1989). Throughout its history, al-Madrasah al-Arqo Qismu experienced several changes. Chronologically, this name change started from al-Madrasah al-Arqo Qismu then Hogere Muhammadijah School, then Kweekschool Islam and became Kweekschool Muhammadijah. Kweekschool name appears in the mind of KH Ahmad Dahlan after his visit from Catholic Kweekschool Muntilan (History of the Muhammadiyah, tt). In the beginning of this school is located in Kauman. Then it moved to Ketanggungan Wirobrajan (now Jl. Letjend. S. Parman 68). In 1952, Ara-ara reported Comite has succeeded in establishing a permanent school buildings including classrooms, mosques, homes of directors and so forth (Soeara Muhammadijah, 1952). Changes name to Madrasah Mu'allimin Muhammadijah happened in the year 1941 based on the results of Muhammadiyah congress to-23 19-25 July 1934 in Yogyakarta (Soeara Muhammadijah, 1941). Yogyakarta Muhammadiyah Islamic names Mu'allimin used until now. This name change stems from criticisms of Muhammadiyah members, why should take the name of the Dutch school; Kweekschool, and diplomas and the curriculum is clearly different.

At first, the school was founded with the goal to score muballigh, teacher and leader of Muhammadiyah. Originally this school was more like a boarding school by adopting the systems and methods of modern education. However, after changing into Hogere Muhammadijah School, the curriculum coupled with secular science studies / general. School curriculum materials that include religious knowledge and secular science / public becomes a form of the ideals and experiments KH Ahmad Dahlan to reconcile these two poles of science in the education system Muhammadiyah. Another version states that the background of the establishment of al-al-Arqo Qismu very simple. This school was established to answer the demands of an alumnus of the People's School (school Ongko loro) Muhammadiyah could not go to the school's teachers gubernemen. This information is reinforced by an article in the January 1922 issue of Soeara Muhammadijah mentioning al-al-Arqo Qismu as second-class school continuation school (Ongko loro). Muhammadiyah several times to apply the equation Boedi Oetomo diploma with recommendations, but not as well received. Finally KH. Ahmad Dahlan in 1918 founded the al-Madrasah al-Arqo Qismu alumnus of the school so that people can continue their education. In addition, they can also help teach at schools other Muhammadiyah.

Being a Cadre School Muhammadiyah

Graduate-graduate Islamic Kweekschool / Muhammadijah was then spread, teaching in schools, especially in Java Muhammadiyah. There are no documents that mention the specialized knowledge they imparted. Human resource constraints resulted in the absence of scientific specialization of teachers in educational institutions of the Islamic period (Boland, 1982). Graduate-graduate Kweekschool this Muhammadijah teach all subjects, whether religious sciences such as Tafsir, Hadith, Fiqh and general science / secular, such as earth science, biology, astronomy / Reckoning, and others. But boarding school colors are still visible portion is thicker with more religious education.

The role of its alumni are found not only taught in Muhammadiyah schools recently founded. They were also active in Islamic dawah and community development, especially in the branches of the Muhammadiyah. Their gait in the early development of Muhammadiyah Muallimin placing young people into education centers.

Can be concluded, that the actual predicate Cadre School Muhammadiyah on myself Mu'allimin not pertinent to the establishment of the embryo. al-al-Arqo Qismu founded as a school teacher candidates and muballigh Muhammadiyah (Muhammadiyah History, tt). The concept does not appear in Muhammadiyah Kader al-al-Arqo Qismu. The orientation of al-al-Arqo Qismu clear to meet the demanding needs of teachers and muballigh Muhammadiyah Muhammadiyah branches in the Netherlands East Indies. Cadre School Muhammadiyah predicate this new possibility emerged after its alumni can color the Muhammadiyah movement patterns both in Yogyakarta and in the branches outside Yogyakarta Muhammadiyah. This recognition is marked with one of the Muhammadiyah Congress's decision in Medan, which mandates 28 to Hoofdbestur Muhammadijah to formally manage these madrassas (History of the Muhammadiyah, tt). This congressional mandate put Mu'allimin in strategic and important position in the cadre system of the Muhammadiyah. Madrasah Muallimin Muhammadiyah then developed and established in areas such as: Solo, Ponorogo, Pekalongan, Bogor, Bandung, Watukebo (Jember), and so forth.

Muallimin now

Then in 1987, under the leadership of Drs. H. Sri Satoto, we did resistematisasi curriculum. The goal is that the process of education and teaching can be more efficient and effective manner. Accordingly, the development Mu'allimin dilajutkan again with the policy to make up an integrated package concerning the subject material of Al-Islam and the engineering curriculum Kemuhammadiyahan cross (crossing the curriculum), which combines Islamic Junior GBPP materials and Madrasah Aliyah Department of Religious Affairs with the material Mu'allimin which refers to the reference to "yellow book". It is this last process is still ongoing today. Of course, in order to obtain perfect results, evaluation and revision (repair) continually made to the subject material of Al-Islam and Kemuhammadiyahan.

When Muallimin open majoring in Religious Aliyah educational programs of education in 1996/1997, among others, to offset the program MAN PK (Religious education) who initiated and planned by the Ministry of Religious Affairs at the time, H. Munawwir Sadzali, MA, then Muallimin orientation also reinforces the educational program by providing maximum opportunities for students to continue their studies to a variety of Religion and Public Universities, both domestically and abroad. The educational program is divided into two, namely first, Madrasah Aliyah General (MAU), majoring in science and social studies, and second, Madrasah Aliyah Religious (MAK).

But since the 2007-2008 educational year, Muallimin negate this MAK program. This policy was taken because the program has been erased in the curricula of the Ministry of Religious Affairs. Many parties deplore this policy.
